Wednesday, November 19, 2024, marked the birth of a new organization at President University (Presuniv) called Preserve (Prativi Seva Revolution). The organization’s first initiative was to host a conference titled Together for Tomorrow: Collaboration for a Cleaner Earth. Held at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, 5th floor of Building A, Presuniv Campus on Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara, Cikarang, the event featured speakers such as Dr. Ir. Yunita Ismail, M.Si., advisor to Preserve, Dr.-Ing. Erwin Sitompul, ST, M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Presuniv, and the Trash Hero Jakarta team. One of the key topics discussed during the conference was plastic waste management, aiming to inspire students to support sustainability.
During an interactive education session, Trash Hero Jakarta shared insights on reducing single-use plastics and adopting eco-friendly solutions. Gusti Khrisna Aditama, a speaker from Trash Hero, emphasized the importance of using high-quality reusable water bottles and bags to minimize excessive plastic consumption. Participants engaged in dialogues to find practical solutions to environmental challenges, aligning with Preserve’s mission to promote awareness and tangible actions among students. The conference is expected to serve as the starting point for Presuniv students’ continued contributions to creating a cleaner and more sustainable future through collective actions beginning on campus.
