That day, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs team socialized Indonesia’s success in hosting the G20 Summit, held in Bali on 15-16 November 2023, especially in pushing for the energy transition. This material was discussed in a seminar entitled Opportunities and Challenges for Implementing the Energy Transition in Indonesia after the Bali G20 Summit at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, Building A Presuniv Campus in Jababeka Education Park, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang. The seminar was moderated by Joni Welman Simatupang, ST, M.Sc., PhD, a lecturer in Electrical Engineering Study Program and the event was attended by hundreds of students, lecturers, and Presuniv staff.

In his remarks, Ferry Ardiyanto revealed that several factors, such as concerns about climate change, the need for energy security, and the economic benefits of renewable energy, drove the acceleration of the energy transition. In Indonesia, the acceleration of the energy transition is carried out by providing access to clean energy technology, utilizing renewable energy and low-carbon energy sources, and targeting more than 150,000 electric vehicles by 2026. Meanwhile, Danar Anindito emphasizes that the energy transition cannot occur quickly but can take decades. “To realize the energy transition, society and industry in Indonesia need preparation,” said Danar.
