Law Study Program President Univ, Holds Environmental Law Webinar on New Renewable Energy Development

Friday, 10 November 2023, the Legal Sciences Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, President University (Presuniv), held an environmental law webinar on Navigating the Legal Landscape of Renewable Energy Development: Challenges and Opportunities in International Environmental Law. This webinar, held virtually via Zoom , featured speaker Tony Tiyou, founder and CEO of Renewables in Africa. Regina Cyrilla Candra, a Legal Studies Study Program student with a PresUniv International Law concentration, guided it.

In this webinar, Tiyou shared his experiences in helping develop new renewable energy projects in Cameroon, Central Africa. “Even though I have worked with large companies, it turns out that bringing innovation to an unexplored environment is an extraordinary challenge. One of them is the challenge of law and enviromental policy, which still needs to be resolved. “This hinders international collaboration,” he said. So, according to Tiyou, a firm policy is needed to develop new renewable energy projects, including financial instruments thus reducing actions that are illegal in law. (Astried Parihala, tim PR.
