PresUniv hosted the International Youth Conference (IYC) 2022 at the President University (PresUniv) campus Cikarang, Bekasi, over a three days period, August 2-4, 2022, This international conference was a collaborative effort by PresUniv, Global Katalyst e.V. Stuttgart Germany, Better Trails Singapore, Tidar Heritage Foundation Indonesia, and Feldberg International Pre-University Indonesia. This year, the theme of IYC was Learn, Connect & Collaborate for Sustainable Future.
The IYC was designed to encourage active learning through fun activities, as well as building camaraderie and collaboration among the participants. This international conference was attended by 80 junior and senior high school students from various regions who learned about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), they were also allowed to explore various related topics, and to present their ideas. At the closing of IYC 2022, the PresUniv Rector Prof. Dr. Chairy said that he was very delighted to be able to meet directly with the participants and that this year IYC run smoothly. “This program has a good purpose. The learning and activities are packaged in a fun way to discuss environmental issues. So, I believe that you guys enjoyed this program, while learning” he said.
At this international conference, Prof. Chairy also said that IYC 2022 will broaden the participants’ horizons, especially with regard to environmental issues. “After participating in this program, I believe the participants will be more concerned about the environment,” he added. IYC 2022 closed with the announcement of the best teams which were divided into two categories, namely junior high school and senior high school. For the junior high school category, there was eco-8 as the winner; earthlings in second place; and bubble team in third place.
