Alumni President Univ Tell What Makes LPDP Interested

This year, as six alumni of President University (PresUniv) will soon undertake master’s programs at prestigious universities around the world. The program is fully funded from the Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) scholarship 2022. The six alumni were introduced to a luncheon at the President Lounge, Menara Batavia, Jakarta, Wednesday (13/7). They come from different study programs. There are three alumni from PresUniv International Relations Study Program, namely Muhamad Rizki Nugraha Darma Nagara (batch 2015) will take the Master of Public Administration program at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University, United States (US); Denisa Amelia Kawuryan (2015), Master of Science in Sustainable Development program, University of Sussex, United Kingdom; La Ode Rifaldi Nedan Prakasa (2017), Master of Strategic Communication program, University of Western Australia, Australia. Then from the Business Administration Study Program, there is Astrid Putri Prasetyo and Ruhmaya Nida Wathoni, both of whom are from batch 2016 and both will undertake the Master of Science in Management in Entrepreneurial Leadership program, at Babson College, USA. Meanwhile, from the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Ririn Handayani (2017), will continue to the Master of Metallurgy and Environmental Engineering program, Central South University, China.

One of the alumni, namely Deris Anggara, was successfully accepted at Columbia University, USA, which is one of the leading universities in the world. Referring to the 2022 QS World University rankings, Columbia University is ranked the 22nd best in the world. According to Deris, in addition to the track record of achievements and awards obtained during college, LPDP is also very interested in the contributions that the student have made  and will be able to contribute to  Indonesia after they complete their Masters. Deris  has his own  personal program called Genta Mandaya, which he featured in his  interview with LPDP. Deris further explained, “This program is my commitment to enrich the life of a nation and prosperity for the Indonesian people through four sectors, namely youth empowerment, community development, local economic empowerment, and educational transformation.”

Denisa confirmed the statement. She, who is interested in sustainable development issues, admitted that she was very active in participating in national and international organizations and competitions during her studies. Denisa explained, her master’s education will help her understand the management of sustainable development programs comprehensively. This is because Sussex University has a reputation and is ranked as the number one best University in the world for development studies for the last six consecutive years, based on the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022. Then, the curriculum in the study program she takes will also focus on policy analysis for sustainable development and optimizing potential for technological innovation. “With these skills and knowledge, I hope to be able to contribute to helping prioritize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in development plans both at both the national and regional levels,” she said.
