ICSECC 2020 Presented PresUniv Alumni as Speakers

Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, President University (PresUniv), together with Siliwangi University as co-hosts, presented the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Engineering and Creative Computing (ICSECC), Wednesday (16/12). This virtual conference was very special because it presented 2 PresUniv alumni as Keynote Speakers, namely Nguyen Hoang Long, Ph.D. from Texas University, USA, and Ngo Quang Son from IBM Vietnam.

“This conference aims to provide opportunities for professors, academic researchers and students around the world to come together and learn from each other,” said Ir. Rila Mandala, M.Eng., Ph.D., Chair of ICSECC 2020 and Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science PresUniv, opening the event. Also giving a speech, Prof. Dr. Wisnu Jatmiko (SMIEEE), Chair of the IEEE Indonesia Section, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Susilo Soepandji, Chairman of President University Education Foundation.

Hoang Long Nguyen, the alumnus of Information Technology Study Program batch 2002, explained about Algorithms for Context-Aware Forecast in the conference session. Hoang explained that forecasting is essential in making business decisions. Furthermore, making an accurate forecast is still a challenge today. “It takes the development of a comprehensive solution to the estimation problem,” he said. Meanwhile, Ngo Quang Son, also alumnus of Information Technology Study Program batch 2002, who is currently a Client Technical Specialist at IBM Vietnam, said that data, artificial intelligence, and Hybrid MultiCloud are the main trends and focus of the current market and IBM. Data is fundamental because it drives digital transformation.

ICSECC 2020 received 124 papers from various countries, which are Indonesia, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, South Korea, United Kingdom, Bangladesh, and India. Rila hopes that through this conference, researchers and practitioners can explore and share knowledge about sustainable and creative technologies in engineering and computing. “The link and match between research in universities and practitioners is needed so that participants understand how theory and practice can go hand in hand,” he said.
